Wireless mics fail for boring reasons: dead cells, clashing frequencies, a mute switch nobody checked. Ten disciplined minutes with this list removes all three, and it works whether you hired from us or not.
Scan before you place
Power the receiver first, run its frequency scan with the room empty, and lock the cleanest group it finds. In city venues with three weddings running side by side, the 7am scan and the 7pm reality can differ — rescan an hour before showtime.
Batteries are a ritual
- Fresh alkalines in every transmitter, every session — no exceptions
- One labelled spare set taped to the mixing position
- A wired mic on standby for the moment wireless misbehaves
Soundcheck in speaking order
Check the quietest speaker first and set gain for them; louder voices can back off the mic, but a soft officiant cannot add what the system never captured. A quick walk-test to the farthest seat confirms range, and our twin handheld set ships with its frequencies pre-scanned for exactly this.
